While US presidential candidate Donald Trump’s speech at the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville this weekend is eagerly awaited, the amount of crypto donations made to Trump has also emerged.
Meme coin donations also came
According to the news of CNBC from the US media, Trump received $4 million in crypto between April 1 and June 30. It is seen that most of the cryptocurrencies sent are Bitcoin, Ether, XRP and USDC. It was also stated that many meme coins were donated to Trump, but no names were given. Bitcoin accounts for $2.15 million of the $4 million figure.
The donations were made to the ‘Trump 47’, one of the committees collecting donations for Trump. The committee received a total of $118 million in donations during the same period.
Election donations made in the USA must be reported to the Federal Election Committee… The committee was given a 1000-page report on the subject.
The Winklevosses were reimbursed
As it will be remembered, the Winklevoss twins, the owners of the Gemini stock exchange, donated $1 million each to Trump, but these donations were sent back to them because the donation value that could be made per person was $844,000 within the framework of the law. Therefore, this figure does not include donations made by the Winklevosses.
Mike Belshe, CEO of BitGo, a digital asset security and custody firm, also donated $50,000 Bitcoin to Trump.
