Zuckerberg and Fridman record podcast in AI-powered metaverse

Meta, which recently introduced its new game and streaming title Quest 3, continues to develop artificial intelligence and the metaverse. Meta’s CEO Mark Zuckerberg and famous podcaster Lex Fridman filmed a program with “realistic” avatars developed by Meta’s subsidiary Reality Labs.

Fridman shared images of the program on his X account, saying, “This was the most incredible thing I’ve ever seen in my life. It felt like we were talking side by side.”

“Artificial intelligence is a key element of the metaverse”

During the program, Zuckerberg also talked about the metaverse world that Meta wants to create by blending artificial intelligence and augmented reality. The Meta CEO said, “Artificial intelligence has been a key element in understanding the content of the metaverse and what it wants to show. I believe it’s going to be a world where people can meet and show their own feelings in spaces where physical togetherness is no longer mandatory.”

Zuckerberg also noted that this will happen with avatars created with realistic photography.

Meta CTO Andrew Bosworth said at the company’s Meta Connect conference yesterday, “Artificial intelligence is shaping the way we build our metaverse infrastructure.”
