Vitalik Buterin shared a post questioning the DePin projects, known as “Decentralised Physical Infrastructure”. In his post on Warpcast, Buterin said, “What are the DePin projects that people think are most likely to actually work?”
While asking this question, “It feels like the category is a new name for something that has been around for a decade, (Storj and various decentralised ubers..) but has never gotten of the ground? So, what is the bull case for why it will get off the ground now? ” Storj increased by more than 10% after this post by Buterin.
As it is known, Storj offers cloud storage solutions and was one of the prominent projects of the last period in the DePin projects. Storj surged above $0.9 after Buterin’s post. However, the coin was later withdrawn below this level.
DePin projects include formations and companies that aim to decentralise physical infrastructure, such as finance and other areas, and thus move out of a certain type of monopoly.
Projects such as Filecoin and Storj are known as the oldest players in this category.
The DePin projects in the cryptocurrency world, like artificial intelligence, is seen as a category that has been much talked about recently and around which interest has started to increase.
