The issue of ‘tax in crypto’, which has been discussed for years, especially before the relevant law was passed, seems to have fallen off the government’s agenda for the moment. Speaking to Bloomberg on the subject, Vice President Cevdet Yılmaz stated that they do not have any thoughts of taxing stock exchanges or crypto transactions, at least for this year.
Yılmaz said, “Stock market tax is not on our agenda. It was discussed for a while, but then it fell off our agenda. The same applies to cryptocurrencies.” Before this statement of Yılmaz, there were increases especially in BIST indices. After the statement, the rise in the BIST 100 index exceeded 2% and the 10 thousand level was exceeded.
