The possibility that Tesla, the electric car manufacturer company owned by Elon Musk, one of the richest business people in the world, may have bought Bitcoin again was one of the most important topics on social media today.
Musk’s company had not sold Bitcoin since May 2022, nor had it made new additions. In the last earnings report, the similar situation continued and the number of BTC holdings of the company was stated as 9720.
The latest data shown by Arkham states that the car manufacturer company holds 11,509 Bitcoins. If there is no mistake and this is not an accounting error, Tesla seems to have received 1789 more new Bitcoins.
So far, there has been no statement from Elon Musk or Tesla on the subject.
Musk was known for seriously praising Bitcoin during the 2021 bull season. Tesla also bought $1.5 billion of Bitcoin in February of that year. While the company sold $270 million at the end of March (2021), it then hold BTC in its hands until May 2022.
During the Terra LUNA crash, the price drop in Bitcoin and Musk’s acquisition of Twitter, which he renamed X, the company sold $900 million in Bitcoin.
In May 2021, Musk announced that Tesla also suspended the sale of Tesla with Bitcoin payment, and announced that if at least 50% of Bitcoin mining is done with renewable energy, it will bring this feature back.
