Ripple, which managed to stand up even though it had a hard time after the SEC filed an unregistered securities sales lawsuit in 2020, continues to do important work on a global scale. The company, which recently ended the SEC lawsuit, has now received a licence from the Dubai regulator.
According to a statement from Ripple, the company received a license from the DFSA, which regulates the International Financial Centre region, a special financial district of Dubai. In principle, the licence shows that the final process is not over, but usually the companies that receive the preliminary licence complete the process without any problems. Therefore, it is certain that the main licence will also be obtained.
In Ripple’s official statement, ‘This licence has further expanded our global footprint. Companies in Dubai will now be able to use Ripple systems for cross-border payments.’
Stone from Brad Garlinghouse to SEC
Ripple CEO Brad Garlinghouse also commented on the issue, ‘Clarity in regulations is the only thing the business world wants. Consumers also need it. UAE understands this,’ he said and openly criticised the SEC without naming names.
