Metaverse partnership between Alibaba Cloud and Avalanche: Cloudverse

Alibaba Cloud, the division of e-commerce giant Alibaba Group specializing in digital technology and intelligence, has entered into a new collaboration with layer-1 blockchain Avalanche. The collaboration between Alibaba and Avalanche will make it easier for Alibaba’s customers to create metaverse on the blockchain.

Metaverse partnership between Alibaba Cloud and Avalanche: Cloudverse

Chinese e-commerce company Alibaba continues to collaborate to promote the integration of new technologies. Alibaba Cloud, Alibaba’s cloud service provider, announced a partnership with blockchain Avalanche.

The launchpad, called Cloudverse, is designed to provide an end-to-end platform for companies to customize, streamline and maintain their metaverse domains.

There is a third partner in cooperation

According to John Wu, President of Ava Labs, there is also a third partner called MUA DAO, which functions as the service layer responsible for handling the integration and customization processes for metaverse.

“Leveraging our existing SDK infrastructure, we will allocate resources to facilitate the development of customized software development kits (SDKs) by external parties,” Wu said, adding that Alibaba Cloud’s partners have expressed interest in getting involved in web3.

Avalanche has subnets, also known as “subnets”, which are a group of nodes or validators that can be built on top of the blockchain. Subnets refer to customized blockchains designed to address specific applications and can be built on top of an existing blockchain infrastructure. Cloudverse will facilitate the development of custom blockchain solutions through the implementation of this infrastructure.

Making the metaverse ‘too easy’

Emin Gün Sirer, founder and CEO of Ava Labs, said, “It is possible to create a metaverse with you right now. In 15 minutes the chain will be ready. It takes a few hours for the wallet and key delivery to become operational.” Sirer also added that the technology is made “very easy” and all the tools are open source.

According to the companies, Cloudverse founders will be provided with visual tools, metaeconomics, interactive features, events, ongoing operations and assistance with additional services. Each metaverse space will be ready for operation in about a month after initial access.

There have been other previous collaborations between the two organizations. Alibaba Cloud began providing infrastructure and tools in December to make it easier for users in Asia to run validators on the Avalanche network.
