In Honduras, the National Banking and Securities Commission (CNBS) banned companies affiliated with the institution from conducting cryptocurrency transactions. Money laundering, fraud and financing of terrorism were cited as the reasons for the obstacle.

In the statement of CNBS, it was said: “maintaining, investing, brokering or trading cryptocurrencies, cryptoassets, virtual currencies, tokens or similar virtual assets not issued or authorized by the central bank.”

In the statement, it was also stated that investors accessed many platforms outside the country and the movements there could not be controlled.

Cryptocurrencies are not yet regulated in Honduras, but there are many companies and platforms providing services in this regard in the country.
