Shares of Trump Media & Technology Group, the media company founded by Donald Trump in 2021, fell 11% in pre-session trading in the US. Trump, who was touted as the ‘loser of the night’, especially in the Kamala Harris programme at night, is also seen to have lost points in the election polls.

In the crypto-based prediction and betting platform Polymarket, it is seen that Kamala Harris is ahead 50% to 49% in the presidential poll, which was 49% to 49% in the morning. Trump had regained the lead in the polls, especially after Harris’ plan to increase the tax on corporations.

“They eat cats and dogs” remark cost him points

During a discussion on illegal immigrants, Trump said during an answer to a question about immigration: “They’re eating the dogs, the people that came in, they’re eating the cats. They’re eating the pets of the people that live there, and this is what’s happening in our country, and it’s a shame.” Kamala Harris responded with a laugh. Harris said, “Because of these ridiculous allegations, 200 deputies from Republicans support us.”

The US media wrote that Trump’s words lost him points, while Harris managed to irritate Trump and get ahead of him with such discussions.
