Trump was convinced for Bitcoin by three people in Puerto Rico

US presidential candidate Donald Trump’s support for Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies was an unexpected development for the whole world. It turned out that it was David Bailey and his two friends who convinced Trump, who was against cryptocurrencies about 3 years ago, about Bitcoin. The trio also organised the ‘round table’ meeting at Trump’s home in Mar-a-Lago.

Trump was convinced for Bitcoin by three people in Puerto Rico

While the crypto and Bitcoin community supports Donald Trump in the US elections, the Kamala Harris side is still silent. While Trump played the crypto/Bitcoin card openly, especially to get the vote of young people, it turned out that 3 Bitcoin maximalists brought him to this situation.

CNBC from the US media reached the details of how Trump became a Bitcoin and cryptocurrency supporter in a short time.

Those who convinced a person like Trump who was anti-Bitcoin in the past; Bitcoin Magazine CEO David Bailey, Amanda Fabiano, known as the shadow leader of Bitcoin mining, and Tracy Hoyos-Lopez, a former California prosecutor. All three of these people lived in Puerto Rico and were neighbours.

Decision made at dinner in Puerto Rico

The trio, who live in Puerto Rico, a small island in the Caribbean Sea, took action at the suggestion of David Bailey during a family dinner in early July. Bailey said, ‘I have been in contact with the Trump administration for a while. I’m thinking of a meeting to tell them about Bitcoin mining. Shall we talk about it?’ he said.

Bailey also knew that a very serious donation commitment was needed to convince Trump. Therefore, approval from mining companies had to be obtained.

“Without Amanda, we wouldn’t have had the legitimacy to sell that this is a legitimate business”

Tracy Hoyos-Lopez, Bailey’s neighbour from Puerto Rico, who also took the ‘orange pill’ on Bitcoin, reached a critical name from the Trump administration for the meeting. Hoyos-Lopez gave the following details on the subject:

“Without Amanda, we wouldn’t have had the legitimacy to sell that this is a legitimate business. She is the mining queen. She’s got all the miners. If you want to be taken seriously, you have to take serious people, and it doesn’t get any more serious than miners.”

The trio took action with their dinner in Puerto Rico. David Bailey, who had already been in elbow contact with the Trump side for months, flew to New York and met with Trump. After this meeting, Trump agreed to hold a ‘round table’ meeting at his home in Mar-a-Lago with the executives of many Bitcoin mining companies.

Even the words in Nashville came from the meeting

Trump then attended the Bitcoin Conference in Nashville. His speech here was almost like a Bitcoiner’s diary. Trump’s words ‘Bitcoin will never be sold, I will fire Gary Gensler, I will keep people like Elizabeth Warren away from the industry’ received great applause.

Fabiano, one of the architects in organising the meeting, said:

“We were at dinner with a bunch of people, and David was like, ‘Hey, I’ve been talking to the administration, and I want to do a roundtable on mining, Can we chat this weekend?”

As it is known, Bailey started to establish a dialogue with the Trump group in March. Following this dialogue, Trump issued an NFT on the Solana blockchain in April and became the first US presidential candidate to accept cryptocurrency donations in May.

Trump, who accepted the ‘round table’ meeting, was also convinced to attend the Bitcoin Conference after this meeting.
