Twitter announced last night that it will share advertising revenue with some of the accounts on the platform. Content creators will be able to monetize the display of advertising tweets below their own tweets.

Requires at least 5 million views per month

Content creators must have at least 5 million tweet views per month over the last 3 months and must also be verified accounts (Blue verified). In addition, a Stripe account must be linked to a Twitter account for payments.

Many accounts have already managed to generate revenue through the program, which is called “producer ad revenue sharing”… The @Elon_alerts account, which instantly tweets the movements of Twitter’s owner Elon Musk on the platform, earned $2200.

Billy Markus, one of the people who created Dogecoin as a joke coin in 2013, earned a substantial 37,50 dollars. Markus showed this message from Twitter to his followers by saying, “I love Twitter.”

Payments will go back to February, when the program was first announced, and will be made in a lump sum for the time being. Earned benefits will also be sent to Stripe accounts within 72 hours.

“Our goal here is that people can make money by creating and living on Twitter,” Twitter said in a statement.
