The highly anticipated LayserZero airdrop rights have started to be announced. LayerZero CEO Bryan Pellegrino, who announced in the past weeks that those who opened multiple accounts (Sibil) and wanted to earn extra airdrop tokens would not achieve their goals, announced that a total of 1.28 million wallets were eligible. The LayerZero Foundation has also created a web page for those selected to check. Especially after the recent Sibil measures, the crypto community did not have many expectations about the airdrop here.

At LayerZero Labs, the development company behind LayerZero, a protocol that enables direct communication between different blockchains, CEO Pellegrino said on X that user actions such as the number of transactions and the start day are decisive in the airdrop.

Pellegrino said at the beginning of May that he thought that a maximum of 13% of the wallet mass would be selected for the airdrop and stated that he thought this number would be at most 800 thousand due to those who opened multiple accounts. Today’s figure is not far from what Pellegrino thought, but it seems to be half as high.

In a social media post last week, LayerZero had shared a post suggesting that the airdrop would take place on June 20th.

Pellegrino said over the weekend that 23.8% of the 1 billion token supply will be distributed to the community and those who develop applications on the network. On the first day, only 8.5% will be sent to the community. The distribution of the remaining number of tokens will be spread over 36 months.
