The BNB Foundation announced that 1,643,698 BNBs were burned under the token burning mechanism. While the 28th of the burning process, which has been going on for years on a quarterly basis, the total value of the burned tokens was approximately $971 million.
In 2019, the BNB token, which switched from the Ethereum network to the BNB Chain, will continue to be burned until the total supply drops to 100 million units. The tokens burned according to the price of BNB and the number of blocks produced on a quarterly basis on the BSC network were sent to an address called “black hole” so as not to return.
In BNB, where a real-time burning is also applied over gas fees, 234 thousand tokens have been burned since 2021.
On the previous burning date, 24 April, 1.9 million BNB were burned. At the time of writing, BNB is trading at about $595.
