Bitget appoints Gracy Chen as CEO

Bitget, one of the world’s cryptocurrency exchanges and a Web3 company, has announced the appointment of Gracy Chen as its new CEO, effective May 2024, replacing Sandra Lou, who will leave the platform to pursue her own business goals. With more than 10 years of experience in various fields, Chen is also known as one of the leading female entrepreneurs in the crypto world.

Gracy Chen joined Bitget in June 2022 as the company’s first Managing Director, leading Bitget’s growth strategies. Over the past two years, her exceptional ability to lead and inspire multinational decentralized teams has been instrumental in navigating the fast-paced and highly competitive cryptocurrency landscape. One of his most notable achievements was leading the strategy that quadrupled Bitget’s user base by partnering with legendary soccer player Leo Messi and building a strong global affiliate network. This enabled Bitget to break into the top five crypto exchanges and solidified its position as a Web3 platform.

Pioneered the BLOCKCHAIN4YOUTH project

Leading two Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives at Bitget, Chen advocates for a more diverse and inclusive crypto industry. To this end, he spearheaded the launch of the #Blockchain4Youth campaign in May 2023, which aims to drive Web3 adoption by inspiring the younger generation to embrace crypto and blockchain. He partnered with more than 50 educational institutions and contributed to more than 6,000 young talents in just one year. As a key pioneer of Bitget’s #Blockchain4Ever initiative, one of Chen’s most important goals is to integrate vision, inclusion and gender diversity into the blockchain industry for a sustainable future and to ensure that women have equal opportunities and representation in this transformative industry.

Beyond her responsibilities at Bitget, Gracy Chen believes in the importance of seizing opportunities to proactively contribute to the cryptocurrency space. To this end, to date, Chen has published more than 50 articles promoting blockchain to the general public as a columnist for prominent publications such as Forbes and Cointelegraph. He is also a judge on Killer Whales, the first reality crypto TV show co-created by Hollywood producers. The program aims to discover promising Web 3 projects and empower them to make an impact in real life.

Her contributions earned her recognition as a Global Shaper by the World Economic Forum in 2015 and she was elected to the Forbes Business Council in 2023.
