“We are calling from Google-Genesis Support”

The theft, which occurred in August, began with the scammers telling the victim that they were calling on behalf of Google Support. The same people then made another call to the victim saying they were reaching them through Genesis Support. The scammers convinced the victim that his account had been hacked and demanded that his two-step authentication (2FA) password be reset.

The hackers then used this method to withdraw the stolen BTC to their own wallets. These people, who tried to launder Bitcoins by converting them into Ethereum and Litecoin through exchanges and mixers, also made many expensive expenses such as luxury cars, houses, jewellery and bags.
