The Binance exchange, which has been struggling with regulatory issues in many countries and jurisdictions around the world and has been much talked about in this sense with the $4.5 billion fine it paid in the US, was also blocked in the Philippines.

Especially in the country where crypto-gaming platforms are used a lot and crypto adaptation is quite high, the SEC sent letters to Google and Apple companies.

In letters dated April 19 and sent separately to the two companies, the SEC requested that Binance and other related applications be removed from the AppStore and Play Store.

As it will be remembered, the Binance exchange was banned in the Philippines in March last year. In a statement, the agency stated that Binance did not have the necessary permits for the sale of investment contracts.

SEC chairman Emilio Aquino said in a statement, “The SEC has identified Binance and concluded that the public’s continued access to these websites/apps poses a threat to the security of the funds of investing Filipinos,”
