ARK Invest sells GBTC, buys Block

ARK Invest, which makes many investments through ETFs, filed new disclosures with the SEC. The company announced that it sold 139,506 GBTC shares. The total value of the GBTCs sold was approximately 3.8 million dollars. The GBTCs were held in the ARK Next Generation Internet Fund (ARKW).

Along with the sales yesterday, some purchases were also seen. According to the statement, ARK Invest bought 113,326 Block company shares worth $5.6 million. As it will be remembered, Block’s data, whose quarterly figures were announced last week, were much better than expected and the company’s shares also experienced increases.

Block is led by Jack Dorsey, a Bitcoin supporter like Cathie Wood. Block’s gross Bitcoin profit increased by 22% compared to the same period last year.

ARK Invest’s Block share purchases were split into 3 ETFs. 70,000 shares were added to the ARK Innovation ETF (ARKK), 26,345 shares to the ARKW ETF and 16,959 shares to the Ark Fintech Innovation ETF (ARKF).

GBTC premium is decreasing

GBTC shares, which started to appreciate especially after its legal victory against the SEC, rose more than 30% in 1 month. The premium rate, which was 50 percent last year, has now dropped to 15 percent. Shares are trading at around $26.

ARK Invest also sold Coinbase and GBTC shares totaling up to 10 million dollars in October, when Bitcoin was rising sharply.
