Striking information about Milojko Spajic, the prime minister of Montenegro, the country from which Do Kwon ( in photo), the founder of Terraform Labs and the Terra (LUNA) project, fled.
According to US court documents reported by Montenegro’s largest media group Vijesti and Bloomberg, Prime Minister Spajic personally invested in the LUNA token issued by Terraform Labs before the company went bankrupt. This has raised suspicions as to why Kwon chose Montenegro to escape criminal prosecution.
It was learned that Spajic invested $75,000 in LUNA in 2018 when it was still in the initial investment phase, buying 750,000 LUNA at $0.10. When the token’s price rose above $119 in 2022, Spajic’s investment was worth $90 million. It is not yet known whether the prime minister of Montenegro has sold these tokens. On the other hand, the opposition demanded Spajic’s resignation.

Spajic made the investment before becoming prime minister. Between 2014 and 2020, Spajic worked for global banking institutions such as Citi and Goldman Sachs, and was a partner in a venture capital fund in Singapore. In late 2020, he returned to Montenegro and joined the cabinet of former prime minister Zdravko Krivokapić as Minister of Finance.
Kwon is blamed for the massive $60 billion collapse of TerraUSD (UST) and Terra (LUNA) in 2022. The South Korean entrepreneur and his company, Terraform Labs, settled an SEC lawsuit in New York, agreeing to pay $4.5 billion to settle charges of fraud.
Both the US and South Korea are seeking extradition for Kwon, who is currently in a shelter in Montenegro. The Supreme Court will decide.
