Joe Biden’s team takes a new crypto step

Trump, who used the crypto card in preparation for the US elections, continues to respond to Biden in this field. After Trump, who accepted crypto donations through Coinbase, a similar step came from Biden.

Joe Biden’s team takes a new crypto step

Current US President Joe Biden is trying to counter Donald Trump’s crypto moves. After Trump’s fundraising with cryptocurrencies via Coinbase Commerce in recent weeks, the same issue came to the Biden team’s desk. It was stated that the team was in talks with some people from the crypto industry about this issue and they wanted to accept crypto donations.

According to the information received by US media outlet The Block from unnamed sources, the Biden team also started to think that the policies implemented on cryptocurrencies could be an important factor in the elections in November. The team also does not want to say “No” to any extra money from donations.

Coinbase Commerce is known as a platform that allows businesses to accept cryptocurrency for payments. Thanks to this platform, Trump can receive donations with dozens of cryptocurrencies.

“Trying to show their support”

One of The Block’s sources said, “They’re paying attention to issues around crypto and are trying to find quick wins to show that they’re supportive of the industry. They want to show that they’re not the enemy.”

As it is known, after Trump’s open support for cryptocurrencies, the Biden administration also steered on this issue. Biden, who vetoed the SAB 121 law, said that he did not plan to veto another crypto law called FIT 21. Ether spot ETFs were also surprisingly approved by the SEC after Trump’s support.

Trump, who is expected to be officially announced as the Republican presidential candidate at the 2024 Republican National Convention between July 15-18, met with CEOs and executives of some major Bitcoin mining companies yesterday.
