Launched in 2021, Mina Protocol is launching the Berkeley update tomorrow, which has been in the works for 2 years. Using zero-knowledge proof technology, also known as ZK, Mina will enable ZK smart contracts, zk applications, layer 2 solutions and bridges with this update, bringing great convenience to its end-user base of millions of people.

“It will become proof of everything”

Mina Protocol previously stated that this update will be a “game changer” and said the following

This is what this update will provide. Mina is structured in a different way and is able to combine all proofs into a single ‘proof of everything’. This evidence can be verified with any device and embedded in other applications.”

It was also stated that the execution of smart contracts will be taken off-chain and validation will be left on-chain, eliminating many of the problems seen in the Web3 world:
