Jed McCaleb, founder of Stellar (XLM), was asked by Jed McCaleb to buy the card exchange site “Magic: The Gathering” in 2011 and turned it into Mt. Gox in 2011, Mark Karpeles evaluated the exchange’s Bitcoin transfers.
Karpeles, who was blamed for the theft of more than 800,000 BTC from the exchange, which suffered a hack attack in 2014 due to its lack of attention to security, said the following about the transfers of the company, which he now has no authority over:
“As far as I know, there is no problem with Mt. Gox as far as I know. The bankruptcy administration is transferring coins to a different wallet for payments expected this year. There is no Bitcoin sale that will take place in the near future.”
Mt. Gox sent more than 120 thousand Bitcoins to another address this morning and did not give any explanation. In the company’s last statement, it was only informed that no BTC or BCH sales were made in any way.
Some panicked investors sold their BTCs out of fear that “Sales will come”. Bitcoin price fell below $68 thousand.
