MicroStrategy, a US software company, continues its Bitcoin purchases. The company announced that it purchased 9,245 BTC today.
According to the statement, the purchase was made between 11 and 18 March. While a total of $623 million was paid, the average cost per BTC was $67,382. MicroStrategy’s Bitcoin reserve surpassed 214,000 BTC with the latest purchase.
The company announced last week that it would offer $500 million in bonds. Demand was higher and reached $100 million above the planned amount.
MicroStrategy also left an important threshold behind with its latest purchase. Reaching 214,246 BTC, the company started to hold more than 1% of the total Bitcoin supply of 21 million for the first time.
MicroStrategy, which has been actively buying Bitcoin since 2020, paid $7.5 billion for all of these holdings. The company’s Bitcoin profit on paper is $6.1 billion.
