Bitcoin is being spoken with drops in the new week. The number one cryptocurrency with its market value fell below $65,000 and fell to $64,600.

On the other hand, a large sell order on BitMEX, one of the biggest crypto derivatives exchanges, caused Bitcoin to drop to $8,900 for a second. It was determined that an investor sold more than 850 BTC during the decline, which took place at 22:40 UTC. Bitcoin returned to its normal level on BitMEX in a very short time as the sell orders that caused a deep slippage were fulfilled.

BitMEX said on social media after the crash stating that it was investigating the large sell orders:

“We launched an investigation as soon as we saw unusual activity on our BTC-USDT Spot Market. All of our systems were operating as normal, but we identified aggressive selling behavior involving a very small number of accounts widely beyond expected market ranges. We can’t comment on any specific behavior of a user or actions taken, and we continue to investigate and the trading platform is operating as normal, and all funds are safe,” BitMEX said.

At the time of writing, Bitcoin is trading at $64,430.
