Suspicious activity with the crypto exchange

In the cryptocurrency world, the saying “If it’s not your passwords, it’s not your coins” seems to have come true once again. BitForex reported nearly $60 million in outflows from the exchange on Friday, while the exchange also stopped withdrawals, causing panic.

Suspicious activity with the crypto exchange

ZachXBT, one of the best-known anonymous researchers and followers in the cryptocurrency and blockchain world, said he detected suspicious activity on the BitForex exchange.

According to ZachXBT, there was an outflow of $56.5 million from the exchange on February 23. Funds were withdrawn from the exchange’s hot wallets. After this withdrawal, it is noteworthy that the exchange also closed the withdrawal transactions of its customers.

While many users flooded the company’s X and Telegram accounts with messages, the exchange did not make a statement on the issue.

Website also closed

On the other hand, access to the exchange’s website is also blocked. When entering bitforex.com, visitors are greeted with the warning “Sorry, you are blocked. You cannot access bitforex.com”.

CEO is left

ZachXBT stated that the CEO of the exchange also left his job 1 month ago, adding that BitForex also has 18% of the total supply in TRB token and 7% for OMI.

The researcher also commented, “In such a bull season, it is also very sad that these users lost their assets.”
